Frequently asked questions

Is a building permit or HOA approval required?
Please refer to the Legal Terms section of the contract, as the decision to obtain a permit lies with the homeowner. While the local municipality may mandate a permit, many homeowners choose not to obtain one for outdoor projects. Kindly check with HOA for further guidance.
How do I obtain a building permit?
If you plan to secure a permit, we can assist you with the process, having dealt with various municipalities and their procedures. However, it is essential to inform us promptly to avoid any delay in your project due to the time required for permit processing.
How often should I restain my pergola?
This is subjective, as some customers choose not to restain at all. However, we recommend restaining every 2-3 years for the exposed posts. If interested in restaining or purchasing additional stain, kindly contact us.
What if there's a split or crack in the wood?
Although we use high-quality Western Red Cedar, splits or cracks can occur in natural wood products. Structural damage will be replaced, and for aesthetic damage, we offer the option to wrap the post with decorative cedar at a nominal cost.
What is the warranty?
The manufacturer provides a 10-year warranty for the Polycarbonate roofing, and our industry standard is a 1-year warranty for the pergola. However, we take pride in our customer service and have resolved issues even after the warranty's expiry.
